Thailand provides an enormous opportunity for those seeking employment as a English teacher, and indeed, for most, finding a language school is not a difficult task. Most schools however will ask that you possess some kind of teaching experience or certification, unless you venture outside of Bangkok where there are less supply of teachers.

Mid-March to Mid-May  is proven to be the best time to undertake your new role as a teacher, as this is the busiest time for English Schools and students often take extra tuition. If you have missed this high season period, you should aim toward October, which is the next busiest time for English schools.

The basic hourly wage for an English teacher in Bangkok is around 6 USD ( or 300 Baht), if you’re seeking employment outside of the capital, the wage will be lower. The average salary an English teacher in Bangkok is around 25000 baht (600USD) with the largest living expense costing around 100USD per month (accommodation).
